Surprise, Ariz. – The Giants defeated the Rangers 11-8 today in front of a record crowd of 12,014 at Surprise Stadium. Ryan Vogelsong started the game for the Giants and earned the win, tossing 4.0 innings with 2 strikeouts while allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks. Shane Loux earned the save, throwing 0.1-inning.

role of bat boy for a batter.
Giants have walk-off win vs. Dodgers
Scottsdale, Ariz. – The Giants came back in the bottom of the 9th inning with a walk-off single to beat the Dodgers 8-7 in front of a sell-out crowd of 12,081 at Scottsdale Stadium. SF was down 7-6 in the 9th before Thomas Neal on a Roman Colon wild-pitch that tied the game at 7 apiece. Ehire Adrianza came into the game as a pinch runner, stole second and later scored after Gary Brown’s game-winning RBI single.
Giants score 4 runs in the 1st to beat Padres
Peoria, Ariz. – The Giants beat the Padres 6-4 tonight at Peoria Sports Complex. Giants’ ace Tim Lincecum earned the win, tossing 4.0 innings with 4 strikeouts while allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits and 1 walk. Giants had 11 hits, but committed 4 errors in the field.
Bumgarner strikes out 6; Giants hit 3 HRs to beat Reds 7-0
Goodyear, Ariz. – The Giants beat the Reds 7-0 today at Goodyear Ballpark. Giants’ starter Madison Bumgarner earned his first spring win, tossing 4.0-scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts while allowing just 1 hit. SF relievers Santiago Casilla, Javier Lopez, Jeremy Affeldt, Sergio Romo and Steve Edlefsen threw a combined 5.0-scoreless innings with 6 K’s, while allowing 4 hits and 1 walk.
Barry Zito pitches 5.0-scoreless frames; Giants beat White Sox 4-2
Scottsdale, Ariz. – The Giants beat the White Sox 4-2 at Scottsdale Stadium today. Giants’ starter Barry Zito earned the win, tossing 5.0-scoreless innings, while allowing 1 hit and 1 walk while tossing just 50 pitches. Brian Wilson pitched a scoreless 6th with 2 punchouts, while allowing 3 baserunners (2 hits, 1 walk). Peoria, Ariz. – The Giants dropped a 1-0 contest to the Seattle Mariners today at Peoria Sports Complex. The Giants actually out-hit the Mariners 4-3 as both pitching staffs dominated the hitters. Ryan Vogelsong started for San Francisco and proceeded to log 3.2 innings while allowing 1 run on 2 hits with 5 strikeouts to suffer the loss. Dan Runzler pitched 2.1-scoreless innings and Guillermo Mota followed with 2.0-shutout frames.
