Spring Training Schedule- Madison Bumgarner Edition

So ever wonder what a players schedule is like during these first two weeks of spring training when there are no games? Below is what Giants starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner’s routine is during these first two weeks.

8:00 a.m. – Arrive at Scottsdale Stadium

8:05 a.m. – Change into Giants workout clothes (t-shirt and shorts)

8:10 a.m. – Eat breakfast in the clubhouse (there’s a lot of variety to choose from – waffles, eggs, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal)

8:45 a.m. – 9:55 a.m. – Try and kill time by playing games on my phone or the media relations department will try and get me to do interviews

10:00 a.m. – 10:05 a.m. – Team meeting  where the coaches go over the different stations that day

10:05 a.m. – 10:20 a.m. – Warm up and stretch

10:20 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. – Loosen arms by playing catch

10:30 a.m. – 11:20 a.m. – Everyone is broken into four different groups and we go through four different stations that last approximately 12 minutes. The first station is for baserunning and bunting. The second station is for pitcher’s fielding practice. Station three is where we work off the mounds and station four is for bunting and slash hitting in the batting cages

11:20 a.m. -11:45 a.m. – Pitchers conditioning where we run

11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. – Usually hit the gym in the clubhouse and go lift for about an hour or so

12:45 p.m. – Shower

1:00 p.m. – Go home
