Giants’ starter Madison Bumgarner earned his first spring win, tossing 4.0-scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts while allowing just 1 hit. SF relievers Santiago Casilla, Javier Lopez, Jeremy Affeldt, Sergio Romo and Steve Edlefsen threw a combined 5.0-scoreless innings with 6 K’s, while allowing 4 hits and 1 walk.
Scottsdale, Ariz. – The Giants beat the White Sox 4-2 at Scottsdale Stadium today. Giants’ starter Barry Zito earned the win, tossing 5.0-scoreless innings, while allowing 1 hit and 1 walk while tossing just 50 pitches. Brian Wilson pitched a scoreless 6th with 2 punchouts, while allowing 3 baserunners (2 hits, 1 walk). Jeff Suppan earned his first spring save, throwing the final 3.0 innings while surrendering 2 runs on back-to-back solo home runs by Adam Dunn and Stefan Gartrell.
Peoria, Ariz. – The Giants dropped a 1-0 contest to the Seattle Mariners today at Peoria Sports Complex. The Giants actually out-hit the Mariners 4-3 as both pitching staffs dominated the hitters. Ryan Vogelsong started for San Francisco and proceeded to log 3.2 innings while allowing 1 run on 2 hits with 5 strikeouts to suffer the loss. Dan Runzler pitched 2.1-scoreless innings and Guillermo Mota followed with 2.0-shutout frames.
Scottsdale, Ariz. – The Giants beat the Rangers 4-1 tonight at Scottsdale Stadium in a rematch of last year’s World Series. Jonathan Sanchez was the first Giants’ starter to reach the 4.0 inning mark, allowing 1 run on 2 hits and a walk with 5 strikeouts. Casey Daigle earned his first spring win, tossing 1.0 inning while allowing 1 hit. Jeremy Affeldt, Shane Loux and Felix Romero finished out the game, throwing a combined 4.0-scoreless innings with 5 Ks, while allowing 3 hits and no walks.

Giants’ starter Tim Lincecum earned his first win of the spring, tossing 3.2-scoreless innings with 7 strikeouts while allowing 3 hits and 3 walks. Brian Wilson made his Spring Training debut today, tossing a 1-2-3 inning with 2 punchouts.
Phoenix, Ariz. – The Giants lost to their cross-bay rival Athletics 6-0 in front of a sell-out crowd of 8,330 at Phoenix Municipal Stadium today. Madison Bumgarner started for the Giants and threw 3.0 innings while allowing 1 run (0 earned) on 2 hits to suffer his 2nd loss of the spring.
Glendale, Ariz. – Giants won their second game of the day today 5-3 over rival LA and moved into 1st place in the Cactus League with a record of 7-2. Barry Zito tossed 3.0 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 2 hits. Felix Romero earned the victory hurling 2.0-scoreless frames with 2 strikeouts.
Scottsdale, Ariz. – The Giants beat the Brewers today 7-2 at Scottsdale Stadium. Jeff Suppan pitched great against his former team, tossing 3.0-shutout innings, while allowing only 1 hit. Dan Runzler threw 2.0 innings with 3 strikeouts although he allowed a solo home run to George Kottaras in the 5th frame.

Giants’ starter Ryan Vogelsong looked impressive in his first start of Spring Training, throwing 3.0-shutout innings with no hits, 2 strikeouts and a walk to earn the win. Buster Posey continues to swing a hot bat, as he crushed a 3-1 fastball to dead center for a 2-run clout. Posey reached base in all three of his at-bats today, going 2-for-2 with a walk, single, HR and 2 RBI.
Scottsdale, Ariz. – The Giants beat the Diamondbacks tonight at Scottsdale Stadium by a score of 4-2. Giants’ starter Jonathan Sanchez earned the win, tossing 3.0 innings, striking out 3 while allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits. Marc Kroon earned his first spring save after pitching a scoreless 9th. Freddy Sanchez had his first hits of the spring, going 2-for-3 and Chris Stewart finished the game going 2-for-3 with a double, triple, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Cody Ross reached base in all three of his at-bats, going 1-for-1 with a single and a pair of walks.
